Are you a girl who is being forced into a stereotypical gender role by your religious parents? You should not have to deal with that

Women are often victims of religion, young girls are groomed to be submissive, to not go to school, to let her husband take care of her and not work for her own money, and to have an excessive number of children to the point that her body is depleted.  This is a terrible life for a woman and if this is what your religious parents are preparing you for then you deserve better and should resist this with all your might. 

As a girl, you have every right to be headstrong and independent. Do your parents allow your brothers to do anything they want but they punish you for even the slightest infraction?  Are you made to do the housecleaning and chores while your brothers don't have to do these kinds of things?  Are you forced to wear head-coverings or other religious garments meant to represent woman's submission?  Do you get lower-quality gifts and less food to show you are less valued?  This is not fair and your religious parents are abusing you. 

Do your parents say they are going to pay for our brothers' college but not yours?  Are your parents telling you not to focus too much on your school work because A's are not important for a girl?  They are setting you up to be uneducated, ignorant, and dependent upon a man for everything.  Nothing is worse for a woman than being dependent upon a religious man who views her as being half as worthy as a man.  Many religions blame women for the problems of the world and say they are the greater inhabitants of hell, this perpetuates harmful cultural stereotypes about women and brings upon them community disdain.  Some religious communities go so far in their hatred for women that the men even find it hard to sleep with them. 

What about wife beating?  Are you being taught your husband has the right to beat you?  Or what about marital rape, are you being taught that your husband may approach you sexually anytime, even against your will, and if you resist you are going to hell? Do they make you feel like a sexual deviant because you want to wear average clothing and adorn your hair?  Do they tell you that thinking you are pretty is being vain?  Do they try to ruin your self-confidence so you will take any man they throw at you... are they pushing you into an arranged marriage? 

Girls have been the victims of religion since it started, but you need to stop tolerating this.  If you are being made to feel secondary for being a girl then this is not right and should be stopped.  You should speak to people at school about this, and add a feminist twist, don't let them make you feel you are wrong for standing up for your rights as a girl, what your parents are doing is wrong and you have every right to be upset.
